How can I find and use the Preview Link?

Modified on Fri, 16 Feb at 12:15 PM

The form preview is useful when you would like to see or share a form that is still under construction. The preview allows you to get feedback from your team while the form is in development and to preview the different steps in the workflow. This can also come in handy when your form is ready for testing.

Finding the Preview Link

You can find the preview link by navigating to your Forms page and then pressing the three dots on the right side of the form card you would like to view.

When you press View Preview, a new window will open with the form preview.

Form previews will always have a blue bar across the top of the page that says "Preview Mode" and will always have the phrase "preview=true" in the URL.

If you would like to share this with someone else, you can copy the URL from your browser.

Using the Preview Link

There are different ways to use the form preview to see how your form works. You can complete any of the fields and check validation and you can also view the workflow and what each person will see during their step.

If you would like to see how the fields work on your form you can complete them and press the Submit or Reject buttons. These buttons are mostly nonfunctional for preview forms so they won't create a new submission on your Droplet platform. Instead, they will validate the fields to let you know whether the submission would be accepted or tell you which fields have errors by outlining them in red.

To view the workflow steps, you can press the Workflow button in the top right corner of the blue banner. This will open a rough outline of the workflow for this form. Each step is a button that will display what the person would see when the form reaches their step.

Sometimes what is displayed at each step is influenced by selections made in the form. If this is the case, you will need to complete those fields to correctly view the step.
