How do I remove a Role from a User?

Modified on Mon, 21 Apr at 9:42 AM

When users change roles or locations, their Droplet permissions may need to be updated. This article shows how to remove roles from users safely and correctly. Keeping roles up to date ensures each user has the right level of access.

Open the Organization Page

To manage roles, click Organization in the left-hand menu.  If you don’t see this option, your current role doesn’t have permission to manage roles.  Ask your Droplet platform owner to update your access.

Step-by-Step

1

On the Accounts page, check the box next to the name of each user whose roles you want to remove.

2

Click the Actions menu at the top of the user list.

3

Select Remove Roles.

4

A menu will appear showing all current roles assigned to the selected users.  The top section shows all roles currently assigned to the selected users.

Click the × next to any role to move it to the “Remove these roles” section. You can also click the × again to move a role back to “Keep these roles on their respective accounts.”

Do not remove all roles from a user unless you’re assigning new ones.  A user with no roles will have no access to Droplet.

Once you're ready, click Remove Selected Roles to finalize the changes.
