How do I use the Timestamp Component?

Created by Nick Duell, Modified on Wed, 9 Oct at 12:37 PM by Nick Duell

The Timestamp Component automatically captures the current date and time when it is displayed on the form.  This can be used to track when specific actions occur, such as when a Signature is provided.  With Display Logic, you can set conditions for when the Timestamp appears, ensuring it only captures the date or time when relevant to your form's needs.

When should I use a Timestamp?

The Timestamp Component is perfect for tracking specific actions or form submissions.  Here are some common use cases:

Signature Timestamp
Automatically capture the date and time to reflect the moment when a user submits a signature, ensuring you have a record of when consent or approval was given.
Workflow Tracking
In a multi-step process, apply a timestamp when a specific action occurs, such as when a submission moves to the next step in a workflow or when a user completes an approval.

Features & Configuration

Adding a Timestamp to your form is simple. Select the Timestamp option from the component library and drag it onto the canvas. Once added, the Timestamp will automatically populate when the form is displayed based on its configured logic.

After placing the component, you can customize its properties in the right-hand panel:
