Clear your cache and cookies
If Droplet is loading slowly, showing an old version of a page, or behaving in a way that does not match what you expect, clearing your browser cache and cookies is the fastest first fix. Here is why it helps and exactly how to do it in every major browser.

Why clearing helps
Your browser saves copies of pages, scripts, and images so sites load faster on your next visit. That stored copy is the cache. Cookies are small files that remember things like your sign-in session and preferences.
Most of the time this speeds things up. But after we ship an update to Droplet, your browser can keep serving its older saved copy instead of the new one. That mismatch is what causes pages to look broken, buttons to stop responding, or a feature to behave oddly. Clearing the cache forces your browser to download the latest version, and clearing cookies resets a stale sign-in session.
Clearing your cache and cookies signs you out of most websites, including Droplet. Have your email and password (or single sign-on) ready so you can sign back in at app.droplet.io.
Want to test a fix without clearing anything? Open Droplet in a private or incognito window. It ignores your existing cache and cookies, so if the problem disappears there, a full clear will resolve it.
Google Chrome (Windows & Mac)
Press CtrlShiftDelete on Windows, or CmdShiftDelete on Mac. You can also click the three-dot menu and go to Delete browsing data.
Set the time range to All time to clear everything, and check both Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
Click Delete data, then close and reopen the tab and sign back in to Droplet.
Safari (Mac)
In the menu bar choose Safari›Settings›Privacy.
Click Manage Website Data, then Remove All to clear both cache and cookies for every site. To clear just Droplet, search for "droplet" and remove only those entries.
Confirm with Remove Now, then refresh the page and sign back in.
To clear the cache only, enable the Develop menu under Settings›Advanced, then choose Develop › Empty Caches.
Mozilla Firefox (Windows & Mac)
Press CtrlShiftDelete on Windows, or CmdShiftDelete on Mac.
Set the time range to Everything, then check Cookies and Cache.
Click Clear Now (or OK), then refresh Droplet and sign back in.
Microsoft Edge (Windows & Mac)
Press CtrlShiftDelete on Windows, or CmdShiftDelete on Mac. You can also go to Settings›Privacy, search, and services.
Set the time range to All time, then check Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
Click Clear now, then refresh Droplet and sign back in.
Mobile browsers
Open the Settings app, scroll to Apps › Safari, then tap Clear History and Website Data. To keep history but clear cache and cookies, use Advanced › Website Data › Remove All Website Data.
Open Chrome, tap the three-dot menu, then Delete browsing data. Set the range to All time, check Cookies and site data and Cached images and files, and tap Delete data.
A full clear removes saved sign-ins, site preferences, and shopping carts for every website, not just Droplet. If you would rather not lose those, clear data for Droplet only using the per-site options noted above, or use a private window to test.
Frequently asked questions
Will I lose my Droplet data if I clear my cache?
No. Your forms, submissions, and account data live securely in Droplet, not in your browser. Clearing only removes the temporary copies your browser saved and signs you out, so you simply sign back in.
Do I need to clear cache and cookies, or just one?
Start with cache only, since that fixes most "old version of the page" issues without signing you out. If the problem continues, clear cookies as well to reset your session.
How often should I do this?
Only when you run into trouble. There is no need to clear regularly. A quick hard refresh (CtrlShiftR on Windows, CmdShiftR on Mac) often resolves a stale page without clearing anything.
I cleared everything and Droplet still is not working. What now?
Try a different browser or a private window to rule out an extension. If the issue persists, email support@droplet.io with your browser name, the page you were on, and a screenshot so we can help quickly.
